We are a social enterprise dedicated to expanding access to education and deepening its impact for millions of learners.
Our History
Building on a commitment to educational ideals.
Axim Collaborative is a joint endeavor by Harvard and MIT. It is the successor to edX, the online learning platform launched by the two universities in 2012. edX was created with the goal of increasing access to high-quality learning opportunities, advancing digital learning technologies, and enhancing teaching and learning on campus and online through research. Today, Axim and its trustees bring forth this pioneering experience in online education matched with a dedication to making a meaningful difference in post-secondary education for students everywhere.
Our mission is to make learning more accessible, more relevant, and more effective for all learners to drive strong student outcomes.
The Open edX Project
Axim Collaborative stewards the open-source Open edX project, a learner-centric, massively scalable online learning platform and community designed to provide effective and personalized digital learning experiences. The Open edX platform is available to anyone to download and deploy to deliver courses and programs of study. It is utilized by major universities, enterprises, governments, and NGOs, serving millions of students around the globe.
